Youth Work Services

LWETB Youth Services Unit administers funding on behalf of the Department of Children and Youth Affairs and the Department of Health to professional and volunteer led youth organisations and groups for projects and services across the Longford and Westmeath region. It has responsibility for the provision, coordination, administration and assessment of youth work services in the LWETB area. There are over 42 youth clubs in the LWETB region with over 1,405 members and 364 adult leaders. The youth services aims to support their activites through funding schemes like the Local Youth Club Grant Scheme and the Local Youth Club Equipment Scheme.

Youth Officer

Our Youth Work Officer provides resources to Youth Work Organisations in the region. LWETB provides a co-ordinated framework that supports the development of a wide range of initiatives for the young people of both Longford and Westmeath.

Youth Work Committee

The role of the Youth Work Committee is to make recommendations to the authority’s board on the performance of its youth work functions under the Education and Training Boards Act, 2013. The committee brings together members of the ETB itself, along with youth organisations, other state bodies and young people.
