Direct Provision Group from Longford Make Trip to the Aviva
A group of young men from the Direct Provision Centre in Longford were at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin to support the Irish football team in their recent clash with Georgia.
The group, who are from the County Longford Youth Service, are from a variety of countries and are all keen footballers themselves.
The night was big success, with Ireland coming away with a 1-0 win.
But more importantly, the event signaled another step towards integration for the young men, who began to become invested in the fortunes of their newly adopted country’s football team.
