France-Ireland Symposium on Vocational Education and Training

The Franco-Irish Symposium on Vocational Education and Training was held in Dublin recently. More than 80 participants from 15 French academic regions and 15 Irish Education and Training Boards came together over four days to reinforce the links between France and Ireland in the field of Further Education and Training and to increase the mobility of Irish and French students and staff from Colleges of Further Education or Training Centres.

The event provided an opportunity to bring together French education authorities and Irish Education and Training Boards to initiate partnerships and explore areas for cooperation as part of their European and international expansion. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Occitanie Academic Region and the City of Dublin Education and Training Board at the French Residence marked the first step towards stronger and deeper cooperation.

Participants were encouraged to orient their discussions around thematic areas such as sustainable development and energy, culinary arts, and eco-construction. The rich and fruitful exchanges are expected to lead to a stronger connection between the two countries and the creation of numerous mobility opportunities.

A big thank you to Education and Training Boards Ireland for this great opportunity.
