ETBI Youth Work Matters Conference

Over 150 policy makers, youth workers and sector leaders attended the inaugural ETBI Youth Work Conference, held in the impressive surroundings of Thomond Park, Limerick. However striking the venue, what echoed though the hallowed halls that day was the salient message, that Youth Work Matters. Contributors from Government, ETB’s and youth services outlined the valuable and significant role that Youth Work plays in the social and personal development of young people.

LWETB was very ably represented by County Longford Youth Service (CLYS) and the ACT Gateway Project, Athlone. Mark Noble from CLYS presented on Detached Youth Work and the development of the Longford Skate Park while Kieran Burke from the Gateway Project participated in a panel discussion on the topic of Diversity and Inclusion. Both organisations did us proud as always, shinning a spotlight on some of the wonderful youth work that is happening across Longford and Westmeath.

To all our funded youth projects, we see you and keep up the great work everyone!
