Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the following vacancy. All appointments are to Longford and Westmeath Education and Training Board but candidates will be assigned in the first instance to the school listed below during the 2026/2027 session. 

Sacred Heart School is a school for pupils with designated abilities termed moderate and severe and profound general learning disabilities. Some pupils may have an additional diagnosis of autism. This new purpose-built facility is located on the campus of St. Finian’s College, Mullingar. Senior pupils follow the Junior Cycle Level 1 and Level 2 Learning Programmes, alongside the primary curriculum.
There are six pupils in each class, who are supported by four special needs assistants and the class teacher. External tutors are supported by the class teacher
